2014 Tokyo Academy alum Zopelar has since been making waves in Brazil and beyond, appearing on a split 12? with Soul Clap and honing his skills behind the decks as a resident at Warung in S?o Paulo. Now comes the 'Hamato' EP, Zopelar?s debut release on his freshly-inaugurated In Their Feelings label, run with his friend Davis and showcasing Zopelar?s taste for refreshing and affective tech-house. Opener ?Piramidal? - which we're happy to premiere here - reflects its title inspiration's convergent structure, with a growling bassline and piercing alarm clock tones fluttering over concrete drums. The 'Hamato' EP also features a Davis remix of the title track that has gotten play from Innervisions don Dixon, and familiar ?Lost In A Moment? emotional vibes likewise pervade ?Piramidal,? with subdued energy percolating to the peak triggered by a classic acid line. Wiggling through the hazy melody, the 303 is ultimately interrupted by a breakdown of queasy pads, a break of sunlight through the clouds ushering ?Piramidal? towards a celebratory conclusion.
