June Miller & Mefjus - Saus

Dutch duo June Miller's recently released Ups and Downs EP on Ram Records is a departure from the rowdy drum & bass they're known for. Sure, "Bad Brains" brings the ruckus, but tracks like "The Promise Ring" and the titular cut are equally is influenced by house and R&B as anything else. Track three, though, made with Austrian badman Mefjus and titled "Saus," is one of the most jarring displays of hard-nosed headfuckery we've ever had the pleasure of being bowled over by. It's gobsmackingly intense. We spent the five minutes of it's duration trying to figure out whether to laugh, skank, or cry. In the end, we managed all three at once.
